Somebody must show that the Afro-American race is more sinned against than sinning, and it seems to have fallen upon me to do so.
— Ida B. Wells
Black Hurricane is a Digital publication created by Black students to give our Black community of students, faculty, staff, and citizens a place to express themselves as well as a platform of representation for Blacks as an under represented populace on Purdue University’s campus, the greater Indiana area and nation as a whole. Our goal is to inform, inspire, influence, empower and unite our community. We aim to create a solid united front for the betterment of us as a people as well as jointly within the Purdue community. We do not condone any form of racism or bigotry. Positivity and prosperity is the root of our mission, our establishment is one for solidarity that delivers raw, unfiltered, authentic content. Just as a hurricane our sphere knows no boundaries to its destination.
